Steve has worked in housing management for nearly 40 years.  Starting as a housing trainee with Joseph Rowntree memorial Housing Trust in 1982; working up to Acting Director of Housing level within local authorities in England, rural Scotland, and rural Wales, before working as a Group Director of Community Services in a traditional housing association for ten years in the 1990s.  Steve then led the  establishment of a new rural lsvt housing association, as the first Chief Executive at Tai Ceredigion, and went on to lead two merger projects with a supported housing charity and a traditional housing association as Group Chief Executive of Barcud Cyf.

Steve is recognised as a rural housing specialist within Wales, having chaired national rural housing groups, spoken at housing conferences, and undertaken regular bilingual radio and tv interviews on behalf of the housing sector, the Chartered Institute of Housing Cymru and the housing association trade umbrella body Community Housing Cymru.
