Throughout his career Steve has been involved in housing re development and both urban and rural regeneration schemes. From the re development of inner city deck access priority estate flats in Sheffield City, to rural enveloping and group repair schemes. In recent years his particular focus has been on rural town regeneration in Lampeter and Aberystwyth, re developing new low carbon homes and an SME / Micro business centre, utilising both Social Housing Grant, Town Centre Regeneration / Transforming Towns funding and Welsh Government / EU regional development funding.
Steve is passionate about town centre regeneration and development of low carbon homes within town centres. As an experienced non executive board member and advisory panel member, Steve is able to assist with strategic reviews of town centres and act as an independent facilitator / bilingual Chairperson for public meetings.
As an experienced non executive director of a private sector training company over the last twenty years, Steve is able to offer advice and assistance on the training of key staff and tenant representatives in modern low carbon building techniques. He also has personal experience of planning and delivery of a near passiv haus standard self build project, using factory built SIPS panels, high performance triple glazed timber windows, ground source heat pump and MVHR ventilation installations in a large eco extension, and then retro fitting the original farmhouse to lower its carbon impact.
